Nick name

If I had a nick name it would be Nate  because I don't have a nick name. People call me James but I don't like that one because it doesn't fit my name .
                                

Pineapple Lumps The Great New Zealand Treat!

A popular treat in New Zealand is Pineapple Lumps. They are only in New Zealand. You buy them from a dairy or supermarket.
Pineapple lumps are  flavoured chocolate covered lollies with a soft chewy pineapple flavoured middle. Pineapple lumps have a soft chewy centre when you bite into them. Top Team Day

At school the seniors did top team. First we had to listen to the instructor because he told us what to do. We had to get into group's of three and I was with Mathew, Chyna and Alesha. Our first activity was burst pipe. We had to choose two people to do the filling and two  people to do the holes. Alesha and I were the blocking holes people and the filling up people were Mathew  and Chyna. They were  filling up the pipe. We had to listen for a bell that means time to change activity then we went to the chicken run. For that activity we had to link arm's and run and get a chicken and run back and put it down behind a white flag. We had to do it again till all of the chickens were gone. They were not real chickens they were rubber ones.
 The day was fun and amazing. I was tired at the end but enjoyed the day.

Guy Fawkes

We are learning about Guy Fawkes because on 5 November it is Guy Fawkes night. I have made a slide which shows my learning about Guy Fawkes.

             

Picasso art portrait

For art we have been learning about Picasso. We have been making our own Picasso art. First we took a photo of ourselves and then we used maths shapes to make our Picasso art. Then we made it 3D by going around it in vivid. We put pastel on our portrait and smudged it for effect.  It was very hard on my hands. my one is ok but some of the lines are not straight. I found making the 3D shapes hard.

3D Pacifica Flower Art

3D Pacifica Flower Art 

For Art, we have been learning how to do a Pacifica flower. 

I made it out of paper. 

I started with drawing the petals on a piece of paper then print it off 10 times. Then I used two colours to dye it. But you can use three colours. The colours I used were green and yellow. Wait for the petals to dry, then place them down on the piece of black paper. Next sellotape the ends.

To make the middle bit, I had to get a piece of white paper and cut it half way to the top. Then get a bit of black paper and cut it all the way to the top. Next get a strip of black paper and weave it through the white bit till all of the black is gone. Curl the white paper ends till it has curved over half way. Stick the middle bit into the centre of your flower.

I found making the middle part hard because we had to curl the paper. I learnt how to make this 3D flower and I enjoyed it.

Lego Ninjago Book Trailer

We have learning how to make book trailers.

To make this trailer we had to read the book. We used a google slide to make it, first we had to do the title called Lego Ninjago. Then we had to write who the author is. Next we had to do a new slide about the book.We wrote an interesting part of the book.Then we wrote why we want them to read the book.We could of put on a slide saying have a nice day I have learnt that they are really easy to make one and it tells you why you want to make others read the book. I did it because it look's easy and it lets other people read it on my blog.

Calendar art

           
          This year for  calendar art I decided to do my hands we had a some options.  We could do a heart, our hands or a diamond were our options. On our hands we could create patterns or just have colour. It had to be done on a special piece of paper. First we had to practise and then complete the real thing. I had finished my calendar art and it was a bit too busy and people didn't like it. I like my one even if it is too busy .

run jump throw

On Monday morning we had an activity called run, jump, throw first we warmed up running around we had to jump hurdles  but i went  around instead of jumping. Because I could fall over and hurt my self  and we had a zig zag course to go through and I did the zig zag course with out falling over. It was a team event we were wearing a bib so then Anita could know who is in which team

sam dickson

On tuesday the second Sam Dickson came in and talked to us about the all blacks sevens team and he is a professional rugby player and and he has had some rough tackles out in the stadium.He has been around to some of the countries to play rugby  he has injured his self a few times
